Breast reconstruction
Breast reconstruction is a life-changing procedure for patients who have previously undergone mastectomy. If you have lost a breast due to cancer surgery, you can absolutely consult me for a comprehensive breast reconstruction plan tailored to your body and medical history.
I offer advanced breast reconstruction options, including DIEP flap reconstruction, which is a microsurgical free flap procedure where tissue from your lower abdomen is used to recreate a natural-looking breast. Since it uses your own tissue, the results feel soft, natural, and long-lasting. This is a highly specialized microvascular surgery that I am trained in, and with the support of my experienced surgical team, we aim to deliver safe and transformative outcomes.
Another reliable option is the Latissimus Dorsi (LD) flap, which is a well-established workhorse flap in breast reconstruction. In this technique, tissue from your back is used to reconstruct the breast mound, giving a good shape and contour.
After the breast mound reconstruction, we can proceed with nipple-areola reconstruction to enhance the aesthetic outcome. This can be followed by medical tattooing to achieve a natural and complete appearance.
Breast reconstruction can be performed in different stages:
• Immediate reconstruction (at the time of mastectomy)
• Delayed reconstruction (after completion of chemotherapy and radiotherapy)
In many cases, delayed reconstruction is planned about 12–18 months after cancer treatment, once the body has recovered well. However, the most important factor is that your general health condition should be stable and optimized before surgery.
Every reconstruction plan is individualized, keeping in mind your oncological safety, previous treatments, body type, and personal expectations. The goal is not just to restore the breast shape, but also to restore confidence, body image, and quality of life.
